RS822+ and RS822RP+

The Synology RackStation RS822+/RS822RP+ is made for companies that want to manage their data effectively and centrally.

Memory

Start small, add RAM when you need it

Every model runs on DDR4 ECC memory. ECC corrects bit errors before they reach your data, which is why Synology uses it in its RackStations. The RS822+ comes with 2 GB, the other models with 4 GB, and each one goes up to 32 GB.

Frequently asked questions

Are my backups encrypted?

Yes. All your backups are fully encrypted and the stored data is strictly confidential: nobody can access the content without your private key.

Does Active Backup support rsync servers?

Yes. The rsync protocol transfers files from servers to your Synology backup. With rsync you can also enable block-level transfer, encryption and compression control.

Does Active Backup support SMB servers?

Yes. SMB transfers files from Windows file servers to your Synology backup. Active Backup uses File Server Remote VSS Protocol (FSRVP) integration, which keeps all your backups consistent. Besides files, it can also back up Windows ACLs, so you can manage access control and restore files easily.

Do you offer any discounts for Active Backup?

If you need a significant amount of storage for your backups, you may be eligible for a discount. Contact us for more information about our pricing tiers.

Is the Synology NAS hosted in a secure location?

Yes. All your backups are hosted in a secure location in the Netherlands, in modern facilities with the latest physical and online security measures.
