Key vBoxxCloud 3.6 Updates and Improvements
This release focuses on better functionality, enhanced security, and an improved user experience. Below are the most significant updates:
- Enhanced Breadcrumb Navigation
First, admins navigating through Team Shares will notice smoother breadcrumb navigation, particularly in deeply nested folders. - Secure Temporary Folder Location
In addition, the updater now stores temporary files in a new location to prevent antivirus software from flagging them. - Improved Security with SMBv2/SMBv3 Support
Since the SMBv1 protocol is insecure, it has been removed. We recommend using SMBv2 or SMBv3 for network drive connections. - Support for macOS 14 Sonoma
Furthermore, the Sync Tool is now fully compatible with macOS 14, ensuring a seamless experience for Apple users. - Flexible Two-Step Authentication Management
Moreover, organization administrators can disable two-step authentication for specific accounts when users lose their restore keys. If required by the organization, users will need to re-enable two-step authentication upon their next login. - Retain Share Links When Deleting Accounts
Additionally, administrators can now choose to keep share links created by deleted users. These links remain active and manageable by the organization admin. - Real-Time Policy Checks in the Uploader
Importantly, users now receive immediate error messages if a file exceeds size limits or violates file type restrictions. - User Interface Enhancements
- The drag-and-drop upload dialog features a more intuitive interface.
- Breadcrumb navigation for deeply nested folders has also been improved.
How vBoxxCloud 3.6 Updates Address Critical Issues
This version resolves several issues to improve reliability and performance.
- Syncing Issues Resolved
For instance, manually disabled machine root subscriptions no longer re-enable themselves after a new Team Share is added. - Improved WebDAV and File Handling
Additionally, WebDAV no longer disables after users edit their personal settings. Files with special characters now open correctly across all devices. - Stability Enhancements
Furthermore, devices that wake from sleep now reconnect to sync seamlessly. Local data is no longer deleted after removing file server enablement mappings. - MacOS-Specific Fixes
Moreover, the application icon now displays correctly in Launchpad for macOS 13 Ventura and macOS 14 Sonoma. Team Share icons in Finder have also been fixed for better visibility. - File Transfer Reliability
Finally, cutting and pasting files from Synced Folders no longer results in data loss. Network interruptions during file transfers no longer skip files in the sync process.
