Increasing digitalisation brings new cybersecurity challenges for many entrepreneurs. To support small businesses and the self-employed, the Netherlands Enterprise Agency (RVO) has created the ‘Mijn Cyberweerbare Zaak’ (MCZ) grant. This grant helps entrepreneurs increase their digital resilience by making a financial contribution to essential cybersecurity measures.
What and for whom is the MCZ Grant?
The MCZ grant is aimed at small businesses and self-employed people in the Netherlands who want to improve their cybersecurity. The grant covers 50% of eligible costs, with a maximum of €1,250. This means that if, for example, you invest in a password manager, anti-virus software, or secure network access, you can get a significant contribution for this.
To be eligible, companies must be registered with the Chamber of Commerce and have fewer than 50 employees. The grant is for both preventive measures and advisory services that increase a company's cyber resilience. Examples include having a cybersecurity scan performed, ordering and setting up a password manager or arranging backups.
Key Dates and Budget
The grant application period runs from 2 September 2024 to 31 December 2024, with a total budget of €1 million. Given the limited budget and expected popularity, it is advisable to apply in time. Entrepreneurs can easily submit their application online via the RVO website.
Why is this Important?
Cyber attacks and data breaches can cause great damage to companies, both financially and in terms of reputation. For smaller companies, the consequences are often even more serious, as they have fewer resources to defend against cyber threats. The MCZ grant offers a low-threshold way to take the first steps towards improving your company's security.
How to apply?
Interested in the grant? Then visit the MCZ page on the RVO website for more information on the conditions, the application process and the required documents. Prepare well and make sure your application is complete and timely to protect your business against cybercrime.
With the ‘My Cyber Resilient Business’ grant, improving your cybersecurity becomes not only necessary, but also financially viable. Don't wait any longer and make sure your business is ready for tomorrow's digital challenges.
